Sankofa Africa Alliance · Evidence Platform

Field knowledge, organised into evidenceyou can stand behind.

Sankofa captures what communities know and report, checks every record as it arrives, and turns it into findings partners can trace back to the source, from a field officer's tablet to a ministry briefing.

Why it matters

Evidence goes missing between the field and the decision.

Communities already know what is changing around them. The loss happens afterwards: in re-typing, in summaries nobody can check, in reports filed away when a project closes.

The Evidence Journey

From question to evidence to action.

Seven stages, grouped the way Sankofa works: reclaim what communities know, reorganise it into evidence, and multiply what it makes possible.

Capture what already exists.

Studies are designed around the question a programme needs answered. Field officers collect on any phone or tablet, with or without a connection; the form checks itself before anything is submitted.

Assurance

Evidence you can defend in the room.

Each record is fingerprinted the moment it is captured. Every action after that, from synchronising to sharing, is written to an audit chain in which each entry is sealed to the one before it.

Change a single answer and the fingerprint no longer matches. The server re-computes it before accepting any record.

Questions

Before you ask.

Yes. Records captured offline, photographs included, are kept on the device and survive the browser being closed. They are sent when the officer synchronises or when the connection returns, and the server checks each one again before accepting it.

Put what communities knowon the record.
